About Matthew

Useful software starts
with a clearer question.

I’m Matthew Chang. I write about software, AI tools and the decisions that appear when an idea becomes something people use.

My Korean journal, Matthew.kr, has been a place for technical notes and personal essays for years. MatthewLab is the English reading space: worked examples, small experiments and explanations worth keeping nearby.

I prefer a specific question to a large promise. Why did the same JavaScript input produce another value? What survives when a container disappears? What does an AI usage report actually count? Those are the sorts of questions you will find here.

About the examples

Recorded results include their runtime or environment. Constructed examples are described as examples. A proposed test is kept separate from one that was actually run. Technical notes link to their relevant documentation and adapted Korean originals.

Related Korean and English notes link directly to one another. Each reading space has its own articles and URLs.
